Las Vegas Style... Kinda - Part III

Hey there! How is your Thursday going?

So as I mentioned in my last post about Las Vegas style, I don't tend to wear the sparkly/overtly "sexy"/club type clothes that The Strip is [in]famous for. I did realize that, being in LV and all, I needed to stretch my comfort zone at least a lee-tle bit.

I did, however, manage to stay true to my personal style by keeping with a beeeautiful black lace dress [you know I love a lace dress] from Muse and a vintage statement necklace-- while also pushing my boundaries with a wee bit shorter hemline than I typically wear.

Black lace short sleeve minidress: Muse Apparel

Beige studded flats (also seen here & here): American Eagle

I got this necklace back in high school at this amazing antique store in Cincinnati.
You can find the best vintage pieces if you're willing to dig through thrift, antique stores, and flea markets!

Green clutch (also seen here): prettypractical

Well, that concludes my Las Vegas vaca style posts! It's always nice to push yourself when it comes to your personal style, so this was really fun for me to do (and The Strip was a perfect place to do just that). How do you change up your fashion choices from time to time?

Las Vegas Style... Kinda - Part II

What's up, ladies (and maybe a few gents)?

As I have previously mentioned, my boyfriend and I went on a little spur of the moment trip to Las Vegas the other week.  Now, we had visited Vegas once before when we were juniors in college for spring break.  I had then seen the particular style Las Vegas is famous for (i.e. sparkles) firsthand.  If you know me personally or follow this blog, you can probably tell that is not really my style.  I don't own too many any pieces of clothing that are bedazzled or extravagant.

However, being in Las Vegas on vacation, I wanted to stretch my fashion imagination a little.  So I wore my hair a little higher and my makeup a little lot heavier.  I decided that a safe way for me to add some spice -without having to wear small articles of clothing- was with colorful makeup (I generally prefer a more natural look) and a black on black outfit.

And hey, if you can't do it in Vegas, where can ya?

Our hotel room, which we booked online about 12 hours before arriving, was... not great (as you can probably tell from the curtains... and the carpet... and my face).

But oh, well!  That's what adventure is all about - just going for it, even if it's not always 100% comfortable!

How do you tend to dress on vacation?  Do you stretch your comfort zone when in places like Las Vegas?  Or do you stick to your traditional style 24/7/365, no matter where you are?  I generally keep with my personal style, but this time I really felt like I should at least push the boundaries and wear heavier makeup (which I basically never do) for a little added fun.

[Check back again later this week for one more Las Vegas outfit post.]

Las Vegas Style... Kinda - Part I

Hi there!  How's it going on this fine Memorial Day?  Are you grilling out, spending the day outside, or just plain, old relaxing in general?  We plan to take a hike with our pup, come home, and lounge around in rafts in the pool.  Cannot.  Beat.  That.

Anyway, as I mentioned a few post back, Matt and I went on a spontaneous mini vacation to Las Vegas the other week.  Today I wanted to share a few photos from our trip and then later this week I will have a couple more posts with my outfits from Vegas for you to look forward too ;)

Overlooking the Hoover Dam, completely terrified/mesmerized.
[Outfit info can be found here.]

I won this Mimi Boutique statement necklace in an Instagram giveaway.
[Similar here $26.75]

In front of the Bellagio fountains

Video roulette is totally our game of choice.

I won a whole $10 ;)

I'll have more info on this outfit in a post later this week, so be sure to check back!

These stairs in Aria are ah-may-zing, huh?!

Mean muggin' Matt at the Cosmopolitan

Chewbacca, baby!

We teleported to Paris for a quick sec.

We absolutely love this part of Bellagio.
[That's probably pretty apparent since we seriously pic'ed it up ;P]

Donut the size of my face at Serendipity... Mmmmm.

I just love living out West.  There are so many amazing places to visit that are within a few hours of Phoenix.  Have you ever been out this way?  If not, a visit is certainly in order :D

Happy Memorial Day, my friends!!!
