Travel Diaries: Venice, Italy {Day 1}

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

I'm back, I'm back!  I have returned from our European adventures!!!  I won't lie to you though: we've actually been back for a few days now, but I am still battling some severe jet lag (as well as about eight loads of laundry and, more importantly, making up for lost time with our perfect fur babies), so a blog post was at the end of my list.  [Sorry, I'm just being honest with ya!]

Well, now that I am finally getting back to a semi-normal life/schedule, I want to share some photos with you from our vacation.  Therefore, I will be doing so over the next few days with a little blogging series revolving around our trip!  I'll share a few pictures from each destination we visited (quite a lot of pics actually, but that's even a small fraction of what I actually took - whoopsies!).  Ooh, and side note: If we look super exhausted and you notice extreme bags under our eyes, it's due to the fact that we barely slept throughout the entire trip.  We were determined to see, do, and experience as much as we could with as little sleep as possible!  Try not to judge us too hard ;)

Our first day in Europe -- after many connection flights & layovers and Matt's luggage getting lost [which he never got back, so he had to re-wear the same clothes and wash them in the sink...!] -- was spent in beautiful Venice, Italy.  I absolutely adored it there!  It was my favorite place we visited in Italy.  It was gloomy, overcast, and drizzled on and off while we were there, but it was still GORGEOUS.  [Oh, and my shoes got soaked all the way through, so I had to buy new ones and a cape to keep me warm!  I even got sick that night at the hotel, but thankfully I felt much better after I slept it off.  Phew, it was a close call!].  We were totally fine with the weather though.  After all, walking under a shared umbrella made it more romantic.  Gotta look at the silver lining!
