Fall-ing in Love with Durango: Jacket + Skinnies + Boots + Beanie

Hello!  Did you happen to see last weekend's post about our time in Denver?  Well, today's post was shot in the charming city of Durango, Colorado.  It's in the Southwest part of the state, which was so gorgeous during early October.  As you can see, the leaves were beginning to change, which made it extra picturesque along the Animas River.  If you are looking for a quaint little town with amazing food and views, Durango is the place to go.  Matt and I had the best time just strolling around the brick sidewalks with the dogs, stopping off at vegetarian-friendly cafes, coffee shops, candy stores - you name it!  It was so relaxing and beautiful, and the people were extremely friendly.  I would highly recommend a trip to Durango if you are looking to book a trip somewhere soon!

It felt so bizarre to wear a hat, scarf, knee socks, and boots.  We rarely have a day in Phoenix, even during the middle of winter, that would call for so much layering in the daytime.  There aren't many things I miss about living in Ohio; however, second to being close to my family, I will have to say I miss autumn the most.  There really is just something about this time of year in the colder weather climates.

Prints Charming: Blouse + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Hi there!  We're back from our road trip through northern Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.  It was such a blast!  We checked out Horseshoe Bend, and then we camped at Lake Powell.  However, that very first night a huge storm (complete with all-night-long lightning) rolled in and stayed until sunrise; therefore, we spent the evening in a cramped Prius full of both of our big dogs, Matt, myself, and week's worth of supplies.  It was a sleepless night (which goes without saying, I think), but we woke up to a rainbow over the lake and mountains -- which obviously made it 100% worth it!  Then we drove north to the natural hot springs in Monroe, Utah.  We soaked in the springs outside in the dark, slept in a tiny log cabin, and hiked our hearts out in the perfect autumn weather.  After that we made our way over to Denver to visit my best friend, Roxanne, and her boyfriend.  It was so much fun to check out their city with them, and I already miss them both D':  After a couple days of enjoying fall in Denver, we headed back south for a night in Durango, Colorado, which is such an adorable, quaint town.  Throughout the entire drive all the leaves were changing, which made the views even more breathtaking.  I highly recommend this road trip to anyone who is living out west -- it truly was so relaxing and early October was the absolute ideal time of year... This Phoenician got to break away from the heat and even experience fall for a few days!

Today's outfit post was taken on the balcony of the Airbnb that Matt and I stayed at in Denver.  It was so nice to be in a cozy apartment, right in the heart of downtown, and be able to bring both of our dogs with us.  Do you use Airbnb?

PS: As much as I have loved being on vacation for the past week, it sure is a hard slap in the face when it's time to go back to work and reality... Am I right or am I right?

Rompin' Around: Romper + Jacket + Heels

Hello there! I.  Am.  So.  Psyched. As of today, I am officially on vacation for the next 9 days!!! Matt and I just celebrated our 8 year anniversary on Thursday (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MATTY!), so we planned a little getaway! We are taking the pups and heading on a road trip through Northern Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. I really can't wait for this rest and relaxation. We plan to do some camping, rustic cabin-staying, and also visit with my grade school best friend in Denver. It's going to be magnificent -- plus, we will get to see all of the leaves changing for fall! [Insert "Heart Eyes" and various colored leaves emojis.]

I am so excited to get out of town for a bit. It's been a steady 100 degrees (yes, still...) up until today. (I'm hoping that by the time we get back the temps will be staying down a bit more... #fingerscrossed!)

Also, be sure to follow along on Instagram (@alliegee319), because I'm sure I won't be able to stop myself from over-gramming the postcard-worthy scenery ;D
