First Coat: Jacket + Top + Skinny Jeans + Heels + Hat

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Happy first day of fall! [How many blog posts did you read today that opened up with that exact same sentence, BTW?] The average temperature may still be in the high 90s here in Phoenix, but our new home in San Diego is awaiting us with beautiful, brisk 70 degree days next week. (Coming from the extreme heat of the desert, 70 degrees is considered "sweater weather" to my thin blood.) And just like every other autumn-loving "basic betch," I cannot wait to start wearing blanket scarves and boots, while enjoying the fall foliage with a hot coffee in hand. Le sigh.

White & black plaid peacoat: c/o Tobi
Is there anything more "WELCOME, FALL!!!" than a plaid jacket? This one is so cozy, but light enough to wear during these warmer early autumn days. (But it'll also be perfect for our first SoCal winter, so get ready to see it a lot in the coming months!)

Light pink t-shirt (also seen here, here & here): J.Crew
{Similar $, $$, $$$}

Dark wash skinny jeans (also seen here, here & here): Gap
{Similar $, $$, $$$}
Use promo code "EVENT" for 35% off your Gap.com purchase for a limited time!

BCBGeneration black pointed toe stacked heels (also seen here & here): DSW
{Similar $$$$}

What are your plans for the first day of fall? Matt and I found a place to live in San Diego earlier this week, so we have been nonstop packing up our house. In just a few shorts day, we will be headed to Cali for good. It's crazy how fast time flies, right?! But we can't wait for the new adventures awaiting us!

Sky [Blue] is the Limit: Backless Dress + Ankle Strap Sandals + Clutch

Sunday, September 18, 2016

Hello! The past ten days have been a whirlwind, man. Last weekend was spent in Raleigh, North Carolina for one of my grade school best friend's weddings. [Congratulations, Jessica + Ron!] It was so nice to have our group of best buds from high school back together again. No one understands your bad jokes or remembers your days of braces better than your childhood besties.

This weekend it was onward to San Diego, where Matt and I are currently searching for a new place to live (because, uh, we move in less than two weeks... and don't have a lease signed... or even one box packed - AH!). Wish us luck!

Pleated chambray open-backed midi dress: c/o Tobi
Wouldn't this Tobi dress be absolutely perfect for a late summer wedding? I just adore how the back detail is so unexpected and fun! If I hadn't been in the wedding party this past weekend, I totally would have worn this dress to dance the night away in!

Madden Girl nude ankle strap heels (also seen here & here): Shoe Carnival

Gold hoop drop earrings with pink tassels: Target

Gold "A" initial cuff bracelet (also seen here & here): c/o Blue Sunflowers

Can you believe we are so close to moving to California? Matt and I are beyond excited to finally know where exactly our new home is going to be. We are mainly looking in the Solana Beach and Del Mar areas. If you are from around there, where are the must see places, best restaurants, and prettiest hikes and local beaches? Any advice is much appreciated!

Pre-Fall Florals: Romper + Wedges + Hat

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Hey all! Once again, please accept my most sincere apologies for my lack of posts, due to the ongoing process that is moving to a new state. Matt and I have been putting off packing at all costs working diligently to get everything squared away for the big move at the end of this month; however, seeing as it was Labor Day Weekend, we took a much needed break. We headed south of the border to Rocky Point, Mexico with our dear friends, Hailey and Nick [side note: check out and follow their amazing travel blog here!]. We swam in the warm ocean, relaxed on the beach, and ate our weight in chips. It was the best company and the best cure for our pre-move anxiety.

Navy blue floral print belted romper: c/o Tobi
Psst... New Tobi customers get 50% off their first order!
[And be sure to check back, because I will be featuring more fun fall pieces from Tobi in upcoming LunaVida posts!]

White strappy espadrille wedges (also seen here): Old Navy
{Similar $, $$, $$$}

Wide-brimmed straw sun hat with black ribbon detail: Target
{Similar $, $$, $$$}

I wore this exact same oversized hat on our Mexico trip to protect my borderline transparent fair skin from the sun. I had also packed this open back romper with the intention of wearing it for a night out on the town. Instead, though, we stayed in each night and had a bonfire on the cliffside, overlooking the beach and the sunset. You just can't beat that.
