Plans for New Year's Eve? I Just Want to Hang with My Dog: T-Shirt + Cardigan + Blanket Scarf + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Friday, December 30, 2016

Hello and happy Last LunaVida Post of 2016! What are your plans for bidding 2016 adieu? Matt and I tend to do the same thing for New Year's Eve each year, which is my favorite thing of all to do: hang out with our pets -- just as the shirt in today's post states. Matt and I are through and through homebodies, so our ideal night consists of each other (blech, I know, I know), cuddles with the pups and cats, and maybe poppin' some champagne if we're feeling ca-razy. Sounds like the ideal way to usher in 2017 to me!

A portion of the profits from this shirt go to help shelter animals! And that makes my cold, dead heart so happy.

Did you all have a good holiday? Matt and I relaxed, ate a veggie feast, hiked with the dogs on the beach, and relaxed some more. And being the fantastic beyond incredible life partner [how stupid does the term "boyfriend" sound after being with someone for 9+ years?] that he is, Matt even surprised me with a brand new Macbook Air for Christmas! My old Macbook had been running so slowly for a hawt minute, and even after many attempts at fixing it, it was making everything take 5x as long to do. I couldn't believe he managed to pull off a surprise like this though - I cried even! I am currently typing this post on said laptop, and my goodness, what an improvement! THANK YOU, MATTY! [Insert all the heart eye emojis]

Wishing you all a happy End of 2016 and Welcoming of 2017! Be safe, have fun, and all the other stuff parents tell us to do on NYE. See you next year! < -- Everyone's No one's favorite joke ever.

Casual for Christmas: Sweater + Military Jacket + Leggings + Riding Boots + Beanie

Thursday, December 22, 2016

Happiest of (almost) Christmas weekends to you! I can't wait for the long holiday weekend. Matt and I plan to spend Christmas at home, cuddled up with our pets, which is my favorite way to spend any day. We will probably take the pups down to Del Mar Dog Beach (which, if you are local to San Diego and haven't been before, you totally need to go even if you don't have a dog, because it's the cutest, sandy, canine-filled galaxy we all wish for). The Del Mar Dog Beach is actually the particular place where today's blog post photos were taken. And a little behind the scenes? Right after we took these pictures, we went to walk the dogs on the beach... and almost immediately a huge storm blew in, and we all got rained on - completely drenched to the bone. It was the best ever.

Make 'Em Sweat[shirt]: Graphic Sweatshirt + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Booties + Crossbody Bag

Friday, December 16, 2016

Happy Friday! Has anyone else had the craziest December already? As I mentioned before, I was in Savannah, Georgia last week to throw my best friend a bachelorette party. Have you ever been to Savannah? It is so much fun, and such a great place for a bachelorette weekend! We went to a speakeasy, ate delicious food all weekend, went on a ghost hunting bar crawl, and soaked in all the gorgeous historic homes. It was such a cool place to celebrate our very favorite bride. (If you are looking to plan a getaway for a bachelorette, I highly recommend Savannah. Plus, the weather is pretty warm for December!)

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Sweater: Skinny Jeans + Sweater + Flats [& LunaVida's 4th Anniversary!]

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Happy December, party people! First off, a sincerest thank you to my sister, Shannon, for thinking up this blog post title. Second, today is the fourth anniversary (or "blog-iversary," as some say...) of LunaVida. It blows my mind that I began writing this blog in 2012. Doesn't that seem so long ago? Realizing that actually makes me really proud that I stuck with it, though. LunaVida is definitely a labor of love - it seriously can take a lot of time. But I love it. I also love that you keep coming back to check in and if you ever have any suggestions or recommendations, I would love to hear them. It's no fun to write this if you aren't enjoying reading it, so please let me know what you do and don't like. And, most importantly, whether you have been a loyal reader since the beginning (I'm talking to you, family members) or just happened upon my blog today, thank you for following along with LunaVida!

How has your December been so far? Last week, I decided to book a last minute flight to come out to Ohio, and meet my new niece, Nora. I've been here for the past few days, spending some "Q.T." with my family and enjoying the Cincinnati life. I am about to head home to San Diego for a couple days, but then on Friday I head back east again, but this time to Savannah, Georgia. I'm maid of honor in my best friend Chelsea's wedding and it's bachelorette party time, baby! I cannot wait to celebrate her upcoming marriage!! (What a month it's already been - and it's not even Christmas yet!)
