Linear | Blouse + Cutoffs + Espadrilles [& Giveaway!]

Thursday, June 28, 2018

Hi there! I'm headed up to LA for the next few days to attend the Animal Rights National Conference. I've never been (I've actually never been to any conference before) so I'm extra excited. I'm looking forward to being surrounded by hundreds of like-minded activists who are all working towards a common goal of eliminating the suffering of animals. After all, as it's said: animals are here on the planet with us - not for us. I can't wait to learn more about how I can spread this message in the most efficient ways possible to help more animals. (I'm also incredibly psyched to eat at all of Los Angeles' vegan restaurants because there are so damn many there! Do you have any favorites I must try while I'm in town?)

My Favorite Vegan & Cruelty-Free Beauty Products for Summer [+ Giveaway!]

Saturday, June 23, 2018

Breaking news: it's officially summer, people (even though I think most of us have been pretending it has been for weeks now)! That means I've switched up the ol' beauty routine for the new season. Warmer temperatures are always great but, as we know, with them comes some downsides -- such as sunburns, frizzier hair, and melting makeup. That's where specialized summertime beauty products come in 😎 Scroll down to see some of my newest vegan and cruelty-free favorite finds - and to enter the supplement giveaway!

1. Hair Remedie Frizz Eliminating Towels

Made of a jersey knit and cloth combination, these amazing towels help to get rid of frizz while also decreasing drying time and damage. They're perfect for at-home use or to throw in your gym and beach bags.

2. Alba Botanica Sunscreen SPF 50

I thought finding a cruelty-free sunblock would be difficult but then the vegetarian brand Alba came into my life. This sunscreen is so much less sticky (and less stinky) than the typical kinds. Most importantly though, it contains no parabens, phthalates, or synthetic fragrances and it's coral reef safe!

3. Sho Energy+ & Sho Balance

I've discussed Sho Balance previously (read more here) and it is still my very favorite probiotic. I've most recently tried Sho Energy+, and it is so helpful for fighting off my midday fatigue.
*Luckily for LunaVida readers, you all have a chance to win your very own Sho Nutrition product - and there will be two winners! Enter via the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post. (One winner will get a free one-month supply of Sho Energy+ and an orange drawstring bag. The other wins a free one-month supply of Sho Balance along with one a green drawstring bag.)*

4. Naturigin All Day Hairspray & Refreshing Dry Shampoo

For all those super sweaty summer days that have our hairstyles falling flat and our roots looking extra greasy, these two products are Godsent. The hairspray helps keep pesky flyaways at bay, and oily roots are made squeaky clean, thanks to the dry shampoo. You can even purchase them at Vitamin Shoppe and VitaCost!

5. Pacifica "Lips Like Sugar" Lip Scrub

I've talked about Pacifica (which you can find in-store and online at Target and Ulta) quite a few times. This lip product is one of my very top picks, though! It smells (and tastes) delicious and leaves your lips super soft.

6. Tanceuticals

Before being introduced to this brand, I had never tried sunless tanning products before due to the fact I was afraid of looking like our current "president". This is not the case whatsoever with Tanceuticals! I've tried both the body lotion and foam formulas. I honestly can't say which is better though, because they are both fantastic - especially when applied with this mitt. (The glove really does make all the difference in making sure it doesn't streak, in my opinion.) I tend to use the foam on my legs and lotion on my upper body.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Wish You Were Vegan | V-Neck Tee + Cropped Jeans + Sandals

Monday, June 18, 2018

Happy Monday! Today's OOTD may be the all-time simplest outfit ever featured on LunaVida. That's been my San Diego M.O. for the past nearly two years though. When we moved to Southern California, we'd heard it was super laid back here - and it turns out that description couldn't be any truer. The longer we are here, the more I find myself spending less and less time getting ready and more time in jeans, a t-shirt, and sandals. (The only reason my hair is even done in these photos is because the curls were leftover from family photos back in Ohio. If I'm being honest with you, a messy bun or braid are pretty much all my hair sees these days because I just really don't enjoy "doing" my hair if I don't have to 😬 Anyone else feel this way?)

"Wish you were vegan" black v-neck t-shirt: BEETxBEET - only $15!

Light wash cropped skinny jeans: Old Navy via my sister ;)
[similar - on sale!]

Black satin frayed crossband slide sandals (also seen here): Target

14K gold "A" initial necklace (also seen here, here & here): c/o Sivado Studio - on sale!

24K gold customized roman numeral bangle (also seen here, here & here): c/o oNecklace - 25% off!

Now that I'm thinking about it, does anyone actually like getting gussied up (yep... I just used that phrase) during the hot summertime months? Maybe that's why I've been especially unconcerned with hair and makeup as of late - because it just falls flat and melts off 😅

Lined Up | Blouse + Ripped Jeans + Espadrille Wedges

Friday, June 8, 2018

Hey there! I'm currently in Ohio visiting my family. Whenever I'm back home, I always try to fit in all of my favorite Midwestern pastimes with my mom and sistas including but not limited to: a full day spent at Kings Island (it's an amusement park), roasting s'mores (vegan, obviously) over a backyard bonfire, trips to my favorite hometown park to skip rocks on the river while enjoying a shaved ice, and sitting outside at dusk listening to the crickets and searching for lightning bugs in the trees. That makes up the entirety of every childhood summer I ever had from about 8 - 18 years old. Growing up, I thought it was all so dang boring. Now that I'm an adult though, I can fully appreciate the fact that those sweet, simple memories are actually some of the all-time best. Thinking back on those times automatically makes me nostalgic and feel all warm and fuzzy. Long live Cincinnati summers 😌

Universal Thread red, white, and blue striped collared blouse: Target

Light wash ripped skinny jeans (also seen here, here & here): Target

Cognac ankle strap espadrille wedges (also seen here, here & here): Gap

14K gold X stud earrings (also seen here): c/o AUrate

14K gold "A" initial necklace (also seen here, here & here): c/o Sivado Studio

Gold bangle bracelets (also seen herehere & here): c/o oNecklace and Madewell via Shopbop

Cognac belt (also seen here, here & here): Gap

Kinda off topic but also speaking of sweet summertime, how cute would this outfit be for the 4th of July (possibly with cutoffs rather than jeans though if it's super humid like it is here in Cinci)? Also, anytime I think of Independence Day my brain just runs straight to all the vegan hot dogs and burgers we get to eat... mmmmm.
