Knot Me: Tank + Ripped Jeans + d'Orsay Flats

Sunday, August 28, 2016

Happy weekend to you -- aaand a happy long weekend to me! I took PTO from work on Monday, because my sister and niece are in town from Ohio. It's always the best to have family visiting. The only downside, however, is the fact that your house usually gets torn apart to pieces whenever a 3-year-old is staying over... This, of course, is the case with my niece, Lacey. Normally, the non-[human]-parent in me has internal mini panic attacks every time she picks up something and promptly throws it in a pile on the floor. But this visit? I don't mind one bit because we need to pack up for our move to California anyway. I will let the surefire destruction that will be left behind when she leaves serve as motivation to just pack it all up in boxes, and get a move on!

Sooo... apparently I am a big fan of Old Navy considering my entire outfit is from there. That's okay, though, because I feel like this is the store of choice for most nonprofit professionals (such as myself). That is due to the fact that we can go there on any given day, and we will most certainly find something adorable that also just so happens to cost $8. $8 shirts are the mainstay of us NPO employees' closets. It's all we can afford so thank you, Old Navy. Thank you for taking care of us and acting as the vast majority of our wardrobes [Case in Point: me].

My Instagram is About to Get a Loooot Prettier... [Life Update]

Monday, August 22, 2016

Remember when I said Matt and I had some big life news to share? Well... the time has come to share with everyone... !!!

We are moving to Southern California next month.

Yes, really. We are moving (again). It's been a lifelong dream of mine to one day live in California (and Matt has also fallen under its spell... because, honestly, who can resist SoCal?). And from the day we moved to Arizona, we've always known that we would end up in Southern California. The weather, the views, the air -- it all just makes our souls so happy.

So after a lot of serendipitous instances and life choice discussions over the past few weeks, all signs seemed to be pointing west to Cali. Matt and I are both SO EXCITED to start this next chapter of our lives. We have had the absolute best 3+ years here in Phoenix, and we will miss everyone more than we can even begin to say.

But the timing just feels right. So we're doing it. We are jumping in head first.

If you have any recommendations in San Diego County (beaches, parks, hiking trails, restaurants, bomb ass coffee shops, etc), please reach out to me!

PS: Okay, be honest. How many of you expected me to say our big news was that we eloped secretly and/or were pregnant? I would bet at least 94% of you initially thought that ;)

PPS: As we continue on with our job/apartment/new life in general searches, please forgive me if LunaVida posts are a little more sporadic than usual. I apologize in advance, but I will be back ASAP -- and I promise that the photos are about to get a LOT more beautifully beach-y!

How Clutch: Denim Jacket + Peplum Top + Shorts + Sandals

Sunday, August 14, 2016

Hello, and happy Sunday! When did it become mid-August? Didn't summer just start a few hours ago? This is by far the fastest summer of my life, but that is just fine by me. I'm not one to wish my life away, but I do wish 100+ degree weather away. And, as I mentioned previously, Matt and I have some exciting changes coming our way; therefore, every spare minute that we have seems to be focused around planning for it. In a few shorts weeks, I can share -- and I just can't wait!!!

Floral Frenzy: Romper + Wedges + Sunglasses

Sunday, August 7, 2016

Hello there! How are things going for you so far in August? Last week, things were going prett-ay, prett-ay, prett-ayyy good for us Phoenicians... This is because we finally got rain. Real, stormy, wet rain that lasted for more than a few minutes. In turn, it actually cooled down outside to about 100 degrees (which, at this point in summer, is a gorgeous day to us). I definitely got spoiled, because this weekend it climbed back up to 109 degrees -- and I can already feel myself melting away quickly. If I really do melt into a human puddle then I suppose it's just another example of "survival of the fittest" ... and it's all my fault, because I haven't worked out once this summer.

I'm not going to lie to you: this romper was the single most difficult article of clothing that I have ever put on before. But it's so damn cute that the struggle was worth it. I mean, let's be honest here: we've all suffered for beautiful items of clothing before, amirite?
