Gypsy Lady: Jacket + Tank + Shorts + Espadrille Wedges

Sunday, July 31, 2016

Happy Sunday! I apologize for my extreme lack of posts lately; however, Matt and I have been veryyy busy planning for a big, upcoming life change. I'm not quite ready to share what that change is just yet -- but soon enough! (In the meantime, though, I will be wearing this flowy, embroidered jacket as much as I possibly can without people judging me for repeating it every other day. I mean, come on, who can blame me? It has pretty embroidery and tassels?! Gimme, gimme!)

Can you believe today is the last day of July already? [Site note: happy birthday, Harry Potter!] I feel like we were just celebrating (or dreading, if you are a desert-dweller) the first day of summer. In a few shorts weeks, we will all be wrapped up in our sweaters, scarves, and boots... Ah, sweet, sweet autumn.

Carlsbad Casual: Cold Shoulder Dress + Jacket + Rebecca Minkoff Handbag + Sandals

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

I'm baaack! Late last night, Matt and I returned from our long weekend in Southern California. We visited our friend in San Diego County and spent some time in Carlsbad and Pacific Beach. We had never been to Carlsbad before, and it's safe to say that Matt and I both fell in love with the quaint beach town. Everything about it is just utterly charming. (Plus, it was 74 degrees - in comparison to the 105+ degrees of Phoenix.) I can't wait to go back!

There is only one downside to a trip to the beach... and that, of course, is the possibility of getting a sunburn. I haven't had a sunburn since I was a kid (I am usually religious about sunscreen). That all changed this weekend, however, because during an overcast day spent outside in Pacific Beach, I didn't realize just how much UV exposure I was getting... Consequently, I am now (still) as red as a cherry tomato - and more fearful of skin damage and wrinkles more than ever! The funny part, though, is that this cold shoulder dress is what I was wearing -- which means I have the most amazing [trendy] farmers tan ever. (Also, let my forgetfulness serve as a reminder to you all: wear your SPF 30+ every damn day, kids - no matter how un-sunny it may be!)

Aqua[Wo]man: Off-the-Shoulder Top + Ripped Jeans + Leopard Flats

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

First things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK TO MY #1 BOOTHANG, MATT!

Secondly, I can't wait to celebrate his 27th b-day this weekend. Matt and I are headed on a road trip to one of our very favorite cities (Hi, San Diego) to visit one of our very favorite people (Hi, Jotir). I honestly am counting down the minutes until we are out of this 108 degree desert, and onto the perfectly sandy beaches of Carlsbad. We are both ready for a long weekend of nothing but balmy 75 degree weather, our old friend from college, and das beeeach. Is it Friday yet?

Is there any place with better weather and views in America than Southern California? I am just going to put my vote out there, and say "Hell no. San Diego has the best weather of all time." (If you haven't ever been before,  I strongly recommend booking a trip to experience it soon!)

Patriotic Pairings: Tank Top + High-Waisted Shorts + Wedges

Monday, July 4, 2016

Happy 4th of July! Today's outfit is as all American as it gets, right? Red, white, and blue high-waisted shorts just make me feel so summer holiday-appropriate. Plus, they are super comfortable, breezy, and Zooey Deschanel-eqsue, which, to me, is the perfect combination. Also, the fact that they leave a little extra room for my guaranteed food baby means that I get to have extra servings of veggie hot dogs - YESSSS!

If you're an American LunaVida reader, how are you celebrating Independence Day? Are you planning on binging out on corn-on-the cob and apple pie? I ask, because that is 100% my intention for the day, obviously... However you intend to spend it, though, I hope you have the happiest 4th of July!
