Brrr-gundy: Cold Shoulder Top + Blanket Scarf + Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots

Thursday, October 27, 2016

Happy almost Hallo-weekend! My sister, niece, and I are headed up to L.A. for the next few days to meet up with my mom and stepdad, who are flying in from Ohio. Both my mom and sister have late October birthdays, so we will be galavanting around Los Angeles, celebrating them! Any must sees or recommendations for L.A. would be greatly appreciated :)

I love that some of my summer favorites, such as this cold shoulder shirt, can work so well for fall. In burgundy and worn with a plaid blanket scarf, you just can't go wrong with mixing summer and autumn pieces like this, eh?!

Booties, Booties Rockin' Everywhere: Romper + Jacket + Ankle Boots

Sunday, October 23, 2016

Hey there, hi there! First thing first, please let me apologize for my absence. My sister, who is currently visiting with one of my nieces [I can now say "one of my nieces," because my other sister had her baby - YAY, Welcome to the world, Nora!], pointed out that it's been quite a few days since I posted... But I do have a good reason! That reason? Well, because we've been off, adventuring around our new city and exploring nonstop, of course!

I am seriously so happy that the temperature is dropping every day, because I can finally break out my favorite boots! They haven't seen anything but the very back of my closet in months, which makes me feel guilty. So thank you, Autumn, for breaking every girls' favorite footwear free of their captivity. We salute you.

Any Lace, Any Time: Off-the Shoulder Top + Shorts + Ankle Boots + Clutch

Monday, October 10, 2016

Hello there! How are ya? Things here in San Diego have been spectacular. We may not have real fall weather here yet, but the highs are in the 80s and the lows are in the 60s. And to someone like myself who spent the last 3 years in the desert? That is fall weather, people. I have been loving it, of course; however, most of the days still call for shorts rather than sweaters. Therefore, I've been trying to autumn-ize my summer clothes, such as in today's outfit post. I took some of my favorite May-August pieces (an off-the-shoulder top and some cutoffs) and added a pair of ankle booties. It fools my "desperate-for-sweater-weather" brain into thinking it's really fall, yet I'm not sweating my face off. Win, win!

Is it cooling off where you are? Although the days are still summer-y here, the nights are so chilly and downright wonderful. Once the sun sets, Matt and I have been spending every evening taking the dogs on long walks and coming back to the ocean breeze coming in through our open windows. It's a dream, here in SoCal. A real dream, I tell ya.

Forever Floral: Camisole + Skinny Jeans + Wedges

Monday, October 3, 2016

It's officially official: Matt and I are San Diego residents! Can you believe it? Because I certainly can't wrap my mind around it! We've been here since last Tuesday, and even though I know this is our new home, I can never express just how grateful I am to be here. Matt and I have loved San Diego for a long time and we always knew that we would live here one day. The fact that 2016 ended up being the year we "made it" to Southern California still shocks me, because we both really thought this move was a few years down the road. I am so very thankful for how life works out, though, because this place is meant to be our home. Despite the fact that we've only just gotten here, Matt and I feel so sublimely at peace and happy (which is not difficult to do when there is a constant 70 degree ocean breeze floating through your window).

Now that it's been almost a full week since moving into our new apartment, one would think our place would be just about entirely set up... It is not. Actually, it is quite far from that, unfortunately. We always lie to ourselves and say, "We don't have that much stuff - this move will be a breeze!" ...Then we realize that couldn't be farther from the truth. [#FirstWorldProblems, right?] Oh well, who can be stressed, with San Diego right outside of your door?!
