Wine-ing Down | Open Back Dress + Over-The-Knee Boots

Saturday, October 21, 2017

Happy weekend to you and yours! Matt and I are currently on our way to Phoenix to visit our friends. I'm so excited to see our Arizona pals! We were #blessed with the best group of friends there, which was by far the hardest part of saying goodbye when we moved to San Diego last year. Thankfully though, Phoenix is only about a six-hour road trip away so we are still able to visit semi-easily. It's gonna be a hot one there though, so rather than long sleeved dresses and OTK boots like in today's post, it'll be more like shorts and tanks on repeat -- and a costume since our amigos are throwing their annual Halloween party!

re:named burgundy floral print dress with open back: c/o Shopbop

Lace knee-high white socks (also seen here): DSW

Brown over-the-knee boots with buckle detail (also seen here & here): Target
[similar - and on sale!]

Silver statement necklace (also seen here, here & here): American Eagle
[similar - and on sale!]

Personally, I don't often [re: pretty much never] wear dresses or skirts on the shorter side. I loved this particular dress, though, because the long sleeves help to balance out the shorter length. I also paired it with the OTK boots to give myself some additional coverage that I was a-cravin'. I really loved putting this look together to wear for our anniversary dinner during our mountain getaway to Idyllwild a few weeks ago. It was something a little bit different than I typically wear to celebrate our big occasion!

  1. I LOVE this dress on you. I was just thinking that I don't believe I've ever seen you wear a dress before. It would look so cute with some sandals or booties.
